Culmination Ceremony

The 2012 Culmination will take place in the auditorium (see campus map) on Tuesday, June 19, 2012.

Rehearsals will be held Thursday June 14, Friday June 15, and Monday June 18. Students should attend all rehearsals.

There will be two Culmination Ceremonies, A and B, based on homeroom teacher (see tentative schedule at right).

To be eligible for culmination, 8th grade students must meet the eligibility requirements for grade-level activities.

Tickets

Tickets will be issued during the last rehearsal day on Monday, June 18.

Due to limited seating in the auditorium each candidate will receive a maximum of three (3) tickets.

Students who have guests with special needs (elderly or wheelchair-bound) may request special-needs tickets instead of regular tickets. There is still a limit of 3 tickets total per student.

Parking

Parking will be available in two areas:

  • on the residential streets surrounding Palms Middle School
  • on the south side of campus. Enter the P.E. yard from Palms Blvd.

If you park in the P.E. yard you must walk to the front of school along Kelton Street or Glendon Avenue. You will not be permitted to cross the campus to reach the auditorium.

Rules for Students

Students should not bring purses, cameras, hats, yearbooks or other personal belongings to the cafeteria.

Students should be present during all scheduled rehearsals (June 14, 15, 18) and stay for the entire rehearsal schedule.

Students must avoid extreme attire that would draw undue attention to them in comparison to fellow classmates. Students who are inappropriately dressed will not be permitted to participate in the ceremony.

  Young Men Young Ladies
Appropriate attire: Comfortable slacks and shirt are most appropriate.
A suit or slacks with a sport jacket or sweater are also OK.
Suits, skirts and blouses or appropriate dresses.
We suggest shoes with a moderate heel.
Inappropriate attire:

NO shorts.
NO jeans.
NO sagging pants.
NO hats.

NO backless evening-type attire.
NO bare midriffs.
NO spaghetti straps.
NO gloves.
NO corsages.
NO hats.
