Parent volunteers help support our students, teachers, and school. Please indicate which events or tasks you may be able to help with.

Events (check as many as you like):

Book Fair: (October 16-21) Set up, supervision and sales, and/or break down. Volunteer coordinator Diane Davis.
Back to School Family Picnic: (October 16) Set up, clean up, sell sweatshirts. Volunteer coordinators David Kent and Craig Jaffe.
PTA Membership Drive: (ongoing starting September 20) Help record memberships and distribute member cards. Volunteer coordinator Lanee Burns, PTSA President.
Back to School Back Pack Document Organization: (September 20-30). Join fellow parents in the parent room to help collate all the forms. Usually done in the mornings or whenever you can stop by.
Coffee with the Principal: (October 28, January 27, April 27) Help set up, clean up, and collect food from on-call bakers. We need coordinators!
Community Days: (September 10, other dates to be announced) Help with campus clean up and beautifying garden areas: weeding, planting, etc. We need coordinators!
Visitor Days: (November 7, November 18, December 6, April 13) Serve as a tour guide for prospective Palms families. Translators (Spanish and Korean) needed as well. Volunteer coordinator Cynthia Friedman.
Teacher/Staff Holiday Lunch: (December 13) Help plan and serve a luncheon for teachers and staff. Volunteer coordinator Sangmi Kishi.
Spring Teacher/Staff Luncheon: (May 22) Help plan and serve a luncheon for teachers and staff. Volunteer coordinator Sangmi Kishi.
Eighth Grade Culmination: (June 22) A few parent volunteers are needed to work with the teacher committee. We need coordinators!

Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities (check as many as you like):

On-Call Bakers: Bake goodies for coffees and luncheons and as needed.
Westside Saver Card: Help coordinator with sales of our discount card for local shops and businesses. Volunteer coordinators David Kent and Christina Tan.
Grocery Card Program: Register your cards! Coordinator needed to manage these "cash back to Palms" programs.
Supervision: (any day) Supervise students during nutrition or lunch (current tuberculosis skin test required). We need coordinators!
Library: (any day) Help with re-shelving, processing of materials, and other library tasks. We need coordinators!
Computer Help: Help install and maintain hardware and software, provide general tech support.
Technology Committee: Help plan Palms Middle School's use of campus technology.
Website: Work with the current Palms Webmaster to maintain the site and post important information.
Palms Gear: Manage sales and keeping stock of Palms sweatshirts and other promotional items. We need coordinators!
