Physical Education

Physical education is an integral part of the overall education program for every student and provides an opportunity for every student to develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence necessary to lead a physically active lifestyle. A high-quality physical education program promotes an active lifestyle, improved health, motor skill development, and better cognitive performance. Studies show that when children's exercise and fitness needs are met, they are more able to learn and achieve.

We're Getting a New P.E. Field!

LAUSD has approved a project to replace our P.E. field. The district began the construction in October 2016. The work is scheduled for completion in October 2017.

The field will be replaced one portion at a time, so students can continue to use it. Some of the upgrades include a running track, a playground area, new basketball and volleyball courts, shade structures, new landscaping including trees, renovated restrooms, and more drinking fountains.

Please be aware that there might be construction activity with vehicles entering and exiting Westminister Ave., increased noise and dust, and some disruption to pedestrian and vehicular traffic. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding during this process.
